<cite> marks a citation by causing text between its opening and closing tags to be rendered in italics.

<cite> . . . </cite>
The following code uses <cite> tag to mark a URL.

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>Example</title>
    </head>
<body>
    My favorite book is <cite>google.com</cite> by Google.
</body>
</html>
