What is database?

What is database?

A database is a logically coherent collection of data with some inherent meaning, representing some aspect of real world and which is designed, built and populated with data for a specific purpose.

A data is defined as “value” of an “attribute” of an “entity”. Now an entity has several attributes and if there are several entities then those values have to be organized in a meaningful way, so that those values may be access correctly and quickly. So this organized data is called as database.
